Additional Sail Information

Since the death of her husband, Anne Dunne and her three children have struggled in every way. In a last ditch effort to save the family, Anne plans an elaborate sailing vacation to bring everyone together once again. But only an hour out of port, everything is going wrong. The teenage daughter, Carrie, is planning to drown herself. The teenage son, Mark, is high on drugs and ten-year-old Ernie is nearly catatonic. This is the worst vacation ever.
Anne manages to pull things together bit by bit, but just as they begin feeling like a family again, something catastrophic happens. Survival may be the least of their concerns.
Written with the blistering pace and shocking twists that only James Patterson can master, SAIL takes "Lost" and "Survivor" to a new level of terror.

What Customers Say About Sail:

I think James Patterson should stop collaborating with other authors. I found this book to be a bore. Don't bother. I love his books but this is not one of them. I was happy when I finished it. Gave it to a co-worker & told her to keep it.

I highly recommend this excellent read. This book was great. - a real page turner.

For one great example - trying not to spoil too much - Anaconda snakes do NOT swim in the Atlantic Ocean and sleeping on the beach in the Bahamas is NOT in any way risking being eaten by a large boa constrictor LOL. I know this wasn't intended as anything other than beach reading. Even so, if you have ever sailed a boat, been to the Bahamas, or flown an airplane the technical bloopers will leave you unable to enjoy the book.

No need to rehash the story line that others have mentioned.this story and its characters never seemed the least bit real or believable to me.I was disappointed and think I will take a break from this author for awhile.

It's not. Maybe Patterson and his band of merry men/women co-writers could think about giving the people who buy his (their) books a bit more. Career lady (cardiac surgeon specifically) loses her husband and tries to reconnect with her kids via sailing trip.

There were so many events that were so far past believable and/or plausible. The last couple of books from Patterson have been ridiculously well, ridiculous. I know it's fiction but come on.

Okay, so I buy the premise of the book. So many "events" transpire - suicidal daughter who later shoots a shark with the flare gun, joint smoking son who later not only saves his mom from the snake but the evil stepfather too. Until Patterson stops churning out this awful cookie cutter nonsense with far too many factual and plot errors, I just refuse to be duped again so no more Patterson for this girl.

Could be good. Absolutely painful to read after about chapter 4-5.
